Hello India!

Hi C,

The surprise bachelorette you went to in Croatia sounds amazing! I can’t believe she had no idea where she was going. It made me miss Croatia so much! I’m so excited to tell you about my trip to India. One of my best friends was getting married and I knew there was so way I could miss it! I’ll admit I was very hesitant about the long flights and jetlag but it was so worth it.

The wedding was going to be in Pune so I decided to go a few days earlier to explore Mumbai. I spent two days there with one of my friends who was also going to the wedding. I stayed at the Taj Mahal Palace which was impeccable.

The employees were amazing and the room was very special. We went around for two days with a tour guide that our friend arranged for us. A lot of the locals kept taking photos of us! I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a celebrity. We went to various places including “the laundry” which is where 6,000 people live and work, the hanging garden which was stunning and the Mahatma Gandhi museum.

A few days later we drove to Pune which took us about five hours because of traffic. We were so excited! It was the first time either of us had been to an Indian wedding and we were going to reunite with friends we hadn’t seen in over a year. We all stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Pune as that was where one of the celebratory events was going to take place. We took part in a lot of the traditions and were in awe of all the beautiful and colorful outfits during the ceremony.

I always want to learn about new cultures and traditions, and this wedding exceeded by expectations. It was absolutely breathtaking and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
