Hi C,
I’m so happy you’re loving Lisbon tooooo!! Over the last few days I have gone to a few noteworthy spots. I met up with my cousin at A Padaria Portuguesa in Miraflores in the late afternoon to “lanchar”. She had a tosta mista and I had a pastel de nata and toast with butter. As plain as that sounds, it was delicious. I love eating toast with butter and I still haven’t found a place in the U.S. where they offer it the way they do in Lisbon.
Another restaurant that offers one of my favorite foods that I haven’t been able to find in the U.S. is Frutalmeidas. Pasteis de massa tenra are incredible and should be offered around the world!! Hahah
Reserva by Olivier in Cascais is another incredible dining establishment. Not only does it have a trendy ambiance, the food and cocktails are amazing. My favorite dish by far was the Linguini with Truffle and Parmesan sauce. Other favorites include the shrimp and of course the Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato. There was also a gorgeous view of a ferris wheel that changed lights every few seconds!
My favorite place to go out at night in Lisbon has been and will always be… Urban! I don’t know what it is about that club that keeps everyone going back year after year. I have a friend who literally goes there four times a week! The location, music and décor definitely make it a must when going out in Lisbon.
There is honestly no better place to spend Christmas than with your family. A few years ago, I wasn’t able to come to Portugal for Christmas for the first time and I’ll never forget how sad I was. Family really is everything. I had one of the best Christmas’ ever filled with love and laughter.
I hope you loved Lisbon as much as I did!
Xoxo,
– K
