Houston: Part 1!

Hi C,

The start of your road trip sounds amazing! Now that I’ll be in Portugal more often, we have to visit some of those places for sure. This weekend, I am in Houston with my family and I highly recommend it. We are staying at the Westin Galleria that is pretty central. The only downside of staying there is that the Galleria mall is very popular and can often create a bit of traffic.

Yesterday we explored The Galleria mall and it was huge! There was even an ice rink in the middle of it. We then headed to a nearby park but when we got out of the Uber we noticed that we were right in front of the Houston Zoo so we said.. why not haha. It was extremely hot and we weren’t able to see a lot of the animals since they were hiding because of the overwhelming heat. It was definitely good family bonding experience.

At night, we had dinner with friends at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse five minutes away from the hotel. They recommend ordering a variety of sides for the table and sharing which is exactly what we did. We ordered everything from French Fries to baked potatoes to onion rings but don’t worry.. the fancy kind ;) To accompany the meal, I had a Caesar salad and I must admit that it was one of the best/freshest salads I have ever had and you know how picky I can be.. haha.

After dinner, we headed to Clé (means key in French). It was hands down the coolest entrance to a club I have ever seen. The music had a good mix and everyone seemed like they were having the time of their lives. Apparently the club throws amazing pool parties during the day so I recommend checking that out.

I’ll keep you posted on the rest of the trip!!

 Xo,

– K
